Who is Elena Rivera: Elena Rivera has been featured as the lead singer of the tropical band “Marito Rivera y su Grupo Bravo” which was formed in San Miguel, El Salvador. Elena with her voice and style of interpretation gave a new character to this group, achieving many hits among which we can mention: “Sabrosa Cumbia”, “El Nítido”, “No soy La Mentirosa”, “No Vales Nada” and “Perdida en tus Ojos” among some. Her musical successes gave Elena Rivera the opportunity to travel internationally with Grupo Bravo and participate in the music environment with great artists of her time such as Álvaro Torres with whom she sings in Puerto Rico, and in a duet at the national gymnasium of El Salvador, Costa del Sol El Salvador and at the “Salvadorean Festival in Maryland”. She also shared stages with Ricardo Arjona, Bronco from Mexico, and Grupo Garibaldi. Elena opened the show for Niurka Marcos in El Salvador. With all these opportunities, Elena toured with the group throughout the North American nation, Canada, Puerto Rico and Central America, taking Grupo Bravo to a more international level. In addition, she had the privilege of appearing on the popular and famous Mexican television program 'Siempre en Domingo', “Y Vero América Va” with Verónica Castro in Puerto Rico, “Sábado Gigante” with Don Francisco, and “TV Mujer” in Miami. In 1998 Elena decided to record her first album as a soloist with the help of her family, where she managed to reach the top spots on the radio with the hit “Que Te Cuesta”. Among her most recent songs are: “Ríe Ríe”, “Cinco Besos” (of her authorship) and “Quiéreme Tal Como Soy”.
A Natural Born Talent: Elena Rivera was born in the city of San Miguel, El Salvador, on November 17, 1969. From a very young age she demonstrated qualities for the stage by singing and dancing when she was just starting kindergarten. All this was possible thanks to her father Mario Rivera Morataya who supported her talent with dance and singing classes. Years later, she and her brothers formed the group “La Familia” with whom she toured Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Later, when she turned 16 years old, Elena became part of her famous brother's group “Marito Rivera y su Grupo Bravo”.
